Episode 7: "Lose It All" #lwordgenqrecap
With a great song playing to get us in the mood, we are back to titty openings! Sophie is taking a shower and Dani walks in wearing a BANGIN blazer. Dani is heated about work and Finley walks in to cheer Sophie up with some jokes about her tight ass (hence the song). Gigi color coded the closet and Nat and Alice are loving their third mommy. Alice wants to make a rule about watching shows all together… apparently they forgot to discuss other rules, but we will get there later. Micah’s mom is in town and her first stop is the dispensary, and Sophie’s grandma is in the hospital. Tina sees Dana’s bar for the first time and Tina and Bette have a moment while they discuss ultrasounds and baby heart beats with Shane.
Finley consouls Sophie at the hospital and we are learning if Finley is the new shane, then she definitely has got the friendships part down! Dani found out the other candidate is going to launch a negative ad about Bette, But bette wont let Dani prep a negative ad in return. Shane and Quiara are at the doctor's office and Shane doesn't feel the feels when they hear the heartbeat. Alice tries to have a meeting with her boss about kicking Drew off the team and then she's blind sided to find out her show is not doing well. Somehow having Megan Rapinoe on her show didn't give the network a viral hit and her show is on a steady decline. Dana’s is also apparently declining, and Shane and Tess are going over numbers for the Lesbian Bar. Apparently no one has told Shane that Lesbian bars usually dont do so well and are few and far between around the world! Shane had “a morning” and Tess does what Tess does best and wraps some advice in an analogy #teamtess !
Micah’s mom had FOUR FUCKING EDIBLES!! She must be high because she starts doing one of the biggest no no in the trans book. She discusses Micah’s childhood and shows old photos. She keeps calling Micah she and Micah freaks out and then walks away. Jose see’s Micah for who he is and they share a steamy kiss! We ship these two hard core! Cut to Bette’s kitchen where she is cooking what looks like Moroccan Tagine.. might she have learned this from Jodie? Tina and Bette are having dinner when Tina says she is thinking about staying in LA. After Bette proposes she stay with her and Angie, Tina hits her hard with the news that Carrie asked Tina to marry her. Bette loses it and deserves a fucking emmy for her performance. Its heart breaking as she pours white wine in her red wine glass, god damnit the details… who did this!?! Brilliant!
Alice and Drew talk through some show ideas and Gigi and Nat fight about the past. They then have what could be described as makeup sex… without Alice, and the sex scenes on this show are EPIC! Sophie is complaining that Dani didn't come to the hospital even though she told her not to and Finley tells her she needs to ask for what she wants. PREACH! Shane nearly stands Quiara up and just as she is leaving the restaurant Shane runs up and tells Quiara how she has been feeling. She is affraid and doesnt want to fuck anything up which is such a Shane thing to say. Dani comes home to Finley getting clothes for Sophie and Dani vents to Finley about work. Finley confronts Dani about not being there for Sophie and convinces her to come to the hospital after some harsh words. Alice comes home after the worst day to Nat and Gigi in bed making it a bad night too. The throuple clearly didn't communicate which ironically is the most important thing about open relationships, non monogamy, and throuples. Alice goes to Shane’s house and is upset to see Bette. They make up, and so do Micah and his mom.
Sophie is stoked to see Dani come to the hospital with Finley, and Dani interrupts a moment that’s not about her with campaign drama. The negative ad campaign is weak but shows us a cute flashback photo of Bette, Tina, and Angie from back in the old days! Dani goes to Bette’s house trying to scramble plans for moving on. Bette gives Dani a stern talk about her morals and then offers Dani a whiskey. Back at the hospital Sophie walks Finley out and THEY KISS! Surprisingly we dont hate this…. We've hated on Finley all season, we’ve hated on Sophie and Dani all season, but I think we are a fan of Sophinley!
Nat calls Alice asking for space, Bette and Dani Cheers, Micah and Jose eat edibles, and the city timelapses. We guess this is symbolism for a few days passing and we are brought to a VERY familiar scene… Alice sits at a restaurant with Gigi and Nat. This is similar to the OG episode when she sits with Tasha and Jamie! Gigi and Nat even ordered before Alice got there!! While Nat asked Alice for some time apart, her and Gigi were at the house hashing through their history. Gigi and Nat want Alice to come home and Alice freaks out and leaves. Sophie tells her sister about the kiss with Finley and we are left on a cliffhanger wondering if she will tell Dani.
We are so ready for the final episode and we are happy to see Micah get some screen time. We are definitely loving the subtle throw backs to our favorite original series and hope to see more of that in the future!
